1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Soua Xiong, Hmong Minnesota Prince Charming.
1.3WHEREAS, the designation of Hmong Minnesota Prince Charming is awarded annually
1.4to a young Hmong man for outstanding contributions to and support of the Hmong community in
1.5Minnesota as well as demonstrable dedication to Hmong history and culture; and
1.6WHEREAS, Soua Xiong was crowned Hmong Minnesota Prince Charming 2014 at the
1.7Hmong American New Year Celebration held on December 22, 2013; and
1.8WHEREAS, during 2014, Xiong will do one year of community service in coordination
1.9with various organizations, provide English language tutoring to Hmong men and women, and
1.10complete his political science degree at the University of Minnesota; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.12commends Soua Xiong for his commitment to community and culture and congratulates him on
1.13his designation as Hmong Minnesota Prince Charming 2014.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.16Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Soua Xiong.
