1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Becker High School boys football team on winning the
1.32014 State High School Class 4A boys football championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Becker football team was one of eight teams that participated in the 2014
1.7State High School Class 4A boys football tournament on November 7-21, 2014; and
1.8WHEREAS, after beating Rocori 24-0 in the quarterfinals at St. Cloud State and
1.9Stewartville 39-20 in the semifinals at Osseo High School, they defeated the DeLaSalle Islanders
1.1024-6 in the final game of the tournament at TCF Bank Stadium to win the state championship; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Bulldogs finished the season with an outstanding 12-1 record; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Becker High School boys football team for
1.14their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.16an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.17the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.18Becker High School.
