1.2congratulating Ryan Balken of St. Michael, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.3WHEREAS, the Eagle Award is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America;
1.4and
1.5WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts is an important achievement that
1.6is worthy of recognition; and
1.7WHEREAS, Ryan Balken is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 547 and has
1.8displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and
1.9WHEREAS, Ryan has demonstrated mastery of all scouting skills, which has included
1.10earning 21 merit badges, and completed a community service project in which he developed and
1.11constructed concrete benches for the St. Michael-Albertville High School garden; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.13congratulates Ryan Balken of St. Michael, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.15copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.16Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Ryan Balken.
