1.2relating to veterans; authorizing placement of a plaque in the court of honor on
1.3the Capitol grounds to honor American Indian veterans from this state.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. PURPOSE.
1.6 The legislature and Minnesota's American Indian veterans wish to honor American
1.7Indian veterans from this state who have honorably and bravely served in the United
1.8States armed forces, during both peacetime and war.
1.9 Sec. 2. PLAQUE AUTHORIZED.
1.10 A memorial plaque may be placed in the court of honor on the Capitol grounds by
1.11Minnesota's American Indian veterans to recognize the valiant service of American Indian
1.12veterans from this state who have honorably and bravely served in the United States armed
1.13forces, during both peacetime and war. The plaque must be furnished by Minnesota's
1.14American Indian veterans and must be approved by the commissioner of veterans affairs
1.15and the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board.
1.16 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
1.17Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final enactment.
