1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to health; specifying an appropriation as a onetime appropriation;
1.3amending Laws 2012, chapter 247, article 6, section 4.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. Laws 2012, chapter 247, article 6, section 4, is amended to read:

1.8Administrative Services Unit. This
1.9appropriation is to provide a grant to the
1.10Minnesota Ambulance Association to
1.11coordinate and prepare an assessment of
1.12the extent and costs of uncompensated care
1.13as a direct result of emergency responses
1.14on interstate highways in Minnesota.
1.15The study will collect appropriate
1.16information from medical response units
1.17and ambulance services regulated under
1.18Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144E, and to
1.19the extent possible, firefighting agencies.
1.20In preparing the assessment, the Minnesota
1.21Ambulance Association shall consult with
1.22its membership, the Minnesota Fire Chiefs
1.23Association, the Office of the State Fire
1.24Marshal, and the Emergency Medical
2.1Services Regulatory Board. The findings
2.2of the assessment will be reported to the
2.3chairs and ranking minority members of the
2.4legislative committees with jurisdiction over
2.5health and public safety by January 1, 2013.
