1.2relating to elections; determining funds for Help America Vote Act; appropriating

1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. SECRETARY OF STATE; HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT.
1.6(a) The following amounts are appropriated in fiscal year 2013 to the secretary of
1.7state from the account established in Minnesota Statutes, section 5.30, pursuant to the
1.8Help America Vote Act:
1.9(1) $50,000 for Military and Overseas Empowerment Act compliance;
1.10(2) $120,000 for support for local election officials; and
1.11(3) $50,000 for eligibility notification letters to felons, if required by law.
1.12(b) $1,200,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2013 to the secretary of state from the
1.13account established in Minnesota Statutes, section 5.30, pursuant to the Help America
1.14Vote Act, for implementing voter photo identification requirements, as enacted by law.
