A bill for an act

relating to environment; requiring coordination with Wisconsin in establishing a
phosphorus standard for Lake Pepin.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

    Section 1. COORDINATION OF MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN
PHOSPHORUS STANDARD; LAKE PEPIN.
The commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency shall coordinate with the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in establishing a phosphorus standard
for Lake Pepin and shall advocate implementation of the standard during the May
to September growing season only. If necessary, the commissioner may engage in a
conference with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources according to section
103 of the Clean Water Act, United States Code, title 33, section 1253, to resolve any
discrepancies in the states' respective standards.
