1.2relating to environment; requiring coordination with Wisconsin in establishing a
1.3phosphorus standard for Lake Pepin.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. COORDINATION OF MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN
1.6PHOSPHORUS STANDARD; LAKE PEPIN.
1.7The commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency shall coordinate with the
1.8Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in establishing a phosphorus standard
1.9for Lake Pepin and shall advocate implementation of the standard during the May
1.10to September growing season only. If necessary, the commissioner may engage in a
1.11conference with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources according to section
1.12103 of the Clean Water Act, United States Code, title 33, section 1253, to resolve any
1.13discrepancies in the states' respective standards.
