1.2relating to crime; requiring the attorney general to appear on behalf of the state in
1.3certain prosecutions of game and fish violations;amending Minnesota Statutes
1.42010, section 97A.255, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 97A.255, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 6. Treaty rights. When requested by the county attorney, it is the duty of
1.9the attorney general to appear within the county and assume primary responsibility for
1.10prosecuting violations of this chapter when the defendant has asserted a defense based on
1.11Indian treaty rights.
