1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. ELECTRIC FISH BARRIER.
1.5The commissioner of natural resources shall enter into a contract to design an
1.6electric fish barrier using the most modern technology available for fish dispersal systems.
1.7The electric fish barrier must include a sweeping or active field barrier with sonar capable
1.8of being reconfigured into a graduated field fish barrier. The electric fish barrier shall be
1.9located at United States Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, Lock and Dam 1. The
1.10commissioner shall award the contract no later than March 15, 2014.
1.11EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
