SENATE BILL No. 518

 

 

April 30, 2009, Introduced by Senators GEORGE, ALLEN, BROWN, BIRKHOLZ, KUIPERS and JELINEK and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Tourism.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1982 PA 540, entitled

 

"Library of Michigan act,"

 

by amending section 2 (MCL 397.12), as amended by 2001 PA 62; and

 

to repeal acts and parts of acts.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 2. As used in this act:

 

     (a) "Board" means the board of trustees of the library created

 

in section 4.

 

     (b) "Department" means the department of history, arts, and

 

libraries state.

 

     (c) "Library" means the library of Michigan.

 

     (d) "Rule" means a rule promulgated pursuant to the

 

administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.201 to

 

24.328.

 

     Enacting section 1. Section 12 of the library of Michigan act,

 

1982 PA 540, MCL 397.22[1], is repealed.

 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 503                                       

 

          of the 95th Legislature is enacted into law.
