House Resolution No. 357.
A resolution to declare May 30, 2018, as Corporate Responsibility Day in the state of Michigan.
Whereas, Michigan corporations are recognized around the globe as industry leaders in food, manufacturing, energy, agriculture and technology; and
Whereas, Michigan corporations have been doing business as responsible citizens in the State of Michigan and around the world; and
Whereas Michigan corporations employ thousands of citizens in our great state and have committed to building a better future for the communities in which they operate; and
Whereas, Michigan corporations demonstrate ongoing commitment to improving the lives of individuals through food, agriculture and technology; and
Whereas, Corporations are committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents consumers around the world. These entities purchase goods and services from a wide range of suppliers, including women and minority-owned, stimulating business across the state of Michigan and the world; and
Whereas, Independent organizations around the world assess and recognize these companies for engaging in environmental stewardship, operating with integrity and creating great places to work; and; and
Whereas, Corporations should be encouraged to integrate corporate responsibility into their business models and are part of the solution to address critical global issues; and
Whereas, The State of Michigan wishes to celebrate the good deeds of our corporate citizens; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare May 30, 2018, as Corporate Responsibility Day in the state of Michigan. We commend our corporate constituents for their dedication to improving the lives of Michiganders on this special day.
