HOUSE BILL No. 5959

 

 

May 9, 2018, Introduced by Rep. Albert and referred to the Committee on Local Government.

 

     A bill to amend 1947 PA 359, entitled

 

"The charter township act,"

 

by amending section 15 (MCL 42.15).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 15. (1) The township board of any charter township may

 

enact such ordinances as may be deemed considered necessary to

 

provide for the public peace and health and for the safety of

 

persons and property therein, in the charter township, and may,

 

except as otherwise provided in subsection (2), by ordinance

 

prescribe the terms and conditions upon which licenses may be

 

granted, suspended, or revoked. ; and The charter township board

 

may in such those ordinances require and exact payment of such

 

reasonable sums amounts for any licenses as it may deem considered


proper. The persons A person receiving the licenses a license

 

shall, before the issuing thereof, license is issued, execute a

 

bond to the charter township when if required by any ordinance in

 

such sum an amount and with such those securities as prescribed by

 

such the ordinance, conditioned for the faithful observance of this

 

act , and the ordinance under which the license is granted.

 

     (2) This section is subject to the local government

 

occupational licensing act.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.

 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5955 (request no.

 

03124'17) of the 99th Legislature is enacted into law.
