     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 931b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 931b. (1) A person shall not provide false information to

 

a registered elector that the person knows to be false and that is

 

intended to impede the registered elector in exercising his or her

 

right to vote at an election. As used in this subsection, "false

 

information" includes, but is not limited to, any of the following:

 

     (a) The date or time of an election.

 

     (b) The location of a voting precinct or polling place.

 

     (c) The registration status of a registered elector.

 

     (2) A person who violates this section is guilty of a

 

misdemeanor.
