HOUSE BILL No. 5527

 

 

February 7, 2018, Introduced by Rep. Kosowski and referred to the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1531n.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1531n. (1) The department shall promote and encourage

 

military spouses to participate in the federal Troops to Teachers

 

program or a similar program approved by the department.

 

     (2) As used in this section, "military spouse" means an

 

individual who is married to a member of the Armed Forces of the

 

United States who is on active duty.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
