Committee on Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation.
A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled
"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"
(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 5506a.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 5506a. (1) If the department receives an application for a permit under this act that, if approved, will result in an increase of emissions, the department shall provide a written notice of the department's receipt of the application to the state legislators that represent the district, or reside in the same zip code area, in which the source that is the subject of the application is located. The department must provide the notice required under this subsection not more than 30 days after receiving the application.
(2) If the department intends to approve the application described in subsection (1), the department shall provide a written notice of the department's intended approval to the state legislators described in subsection (1) not less than 14 days before the department anticipates final approval of the application.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
