Summary

Prohibiting an insurer from canceling or failing to renew homeowner's insurance on the basis of proximity to water or of specified storm risks; prohibiting an insurer from issuing a notice of nonrenewal of homeowner's insurance solely on those bases under specified circumstances; requiring every cancellation or nonrenewal to be substantiated in a specified manner subject to review by the Maryland Insurance Commissioner; and providing for the retroactive application of the Act.
