An Act relating to the requirements of approval for certain lands
formerly appurtenant to railroad right of ways.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 54A of chapter 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
This section shall not apply to any such lands, or property appurtenant thereto, sold by a railroad company to a person other than another railroad company, if the deed evidencing such sale was recorded or filed for registration at least fifty years prior to the date on which an application for any permit to build a structure of any kind on the property is filed.
SECTION 2. This Act shall apply to deeds executed and recorded on, after and prior to its effective date.
