MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing David and Wendy
Wright for their five years of service as KidsPeace foster
parents.
Whereas, KidsPeace is a non-profit children's mental
health organization with a history that dates back to 1882, and
is today one of the most comprehensive organizations to
provide mental health services to children and families in ten
states and the District of Columbia;
Whereas, One of the most widespread services of
KidsPeace is therapeutic foster care. Therapeutic foster care is
a specialized program for children in the foster care system
who have mental health diagnoses;
Whereas, David and Wendy Wright have reached a five
year anniversary as KidsPeace foster parents. This is a an
admirable and meritorious milestone, particularly considering
the high rate of foster parents nationwide who decide in less
than five years that they are emotionally unable to continue
service; and
Whereas, Because of David and Wendy Wright's ongoing
commitment to youth in crisis, some of their community's most
vulnerable and needy children have been provided a safe and
supportive home: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate recognizes David and Wendy Wright for their five years of service as KidsPeace foster parents.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to David and Wendy Wright.
