A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Schnitzelbank
Restaurant located in Jasper, Indiana for its bratwurst sandwich
winning the Super 46 Sandwich Contest.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the
Schnitzelbank Restaurant located in Jasper, Indiana for its
bratwurst sandwich winning the Super 46 Sandwich Contest.
Whereas, The Schnitzelbank Restaurant was started by
Larry and Betty Hanselman on the site of the Schnitzelbank
Dance Hall in Jasper, Indiana in 1961 and currently is co-
owned by Allen and Ellen Hanselman;
Whereas, Since that time, the Schnitzelbank Restaurant has
honored the tradition of German heritage in Southern Indiana,
with its serving of traditional German dishes, full stock of
German beers and wine, and music playing from their
glockenspiel;
Whereas, For 51 years, the Schnitzelbank Restaurant has
been owned and operated by three generations of the
Hanselman Family; and
Whereas, The Schnitzelbank Bratwurst "Bratzel" sandwich bested 45 other sandwiches to win the Indiana Office of Tourism Development's Super 46 Sandwich contest, in a competition designed to showcase Indiana food and restaurants to Super Bowl XLVI visitors: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana State Senate congratulates the Schnitzelbank Restaurant for the selection of its bratwurst sandwich as the winner of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development's Super 46 Sandwich contest.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Hanselman family.
