SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring the Boys & Girls Club of Indiana.

    Whereas, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indiana will be celebrating National Boys & Girls Club Week 2013 starting Sunday, April 7th and ending Saturday, April 13th. They will be joining 4,000 other affiliates and more than 4 million young people nationwide;

    Whereas, The youth of Indiana are the leaders of tomorrow;

    Whereas, Many such young people need professional youth services to help them reach their full potential;

    Whereas, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis has been helping Indiana's young people achieve a life filled with hope and opportunity since 1893, totaling 120 years of public service;

    Whereas, There are currently eight Boys & Girls Clubs in Indianapolis that provide services to more than 7,000 young people annually;



    Whereas, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis is a place where great futures start. They are at the forefront of efforts in academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character and citizenship development; and

    Whereas, The Boys & Girls Club organizations in our state help ensure that our young people keep off the streets by offering them a safe and supportive place to go and providing them with quality programs: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


     SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate honors the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indiana on their exceptional service to the community.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Boys & Girls Club of Indiana.
