MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the Legislative Council to
assign to the Commission on Military and Veterans Affairs the topic of
a vehicle excise tax credit for certain veterans or their surviving
spouses.
Whereas, The Commission on Military and Veterans Affairs should
study the advisability of allowing certain disabled veterans, surviving
spouses of certain disabled veterans, and surviving spouses of certain
World War I veterans to claim a credit against the annual motor
vehicle excise tax regardless of whether the veteran or surviving
spouse owns or is buying other real or personal property against
which the veteran or surviving spouse may claim a property tax
deduction for disabled veterans, surviving spouses of disabled
veterans, or surviving spouses of certain World War I veterans:
Therefore,
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to assign to the
Commission on Military and Veterans Affairs the topic of a vehicle
excise tax credit for certain veterans or their surviving spouses.
