SENATE RESOLUTION

     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Harry Vorhis on his 100th Birthday

    
     Whereas, Harry Vorhis was born on February 22,1910 in Indianapolis, Indiana;

    Whereas, Harry Vorhis has been married to Bertha Vorhis for twelve years. Harry Vorhis had two previous marriages, both wives are now deceased;

    Whereas, Harry Vorhis had adopted one daughter named Victoria Vorhis, and has step children;

    Whereas, it was LaVada Clark who introduced Harry and Bertha;

    Whereas, Harry Vorhis had seven brothers and one sister, all of whom are deceased. He was the sixth child;

    Whereas, Harry Vorhis is a member of the Messiah Missionary Baptist Church;

    Whereas, Harry Vorhis retired in 1975 and remains active: Therefore,    

             Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate recognizes Harry Vorhis for becoming a centenarian by celebrating his 100^th birthday on February 22, 2010.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit six copies of this Resolution to Mr. Harry Vorhis and Mrs. Bertha Vorhis.
