MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Purdue
University's Air Force ROTC program on winning the Right of
Line Award.
Whereas, Purdue University's Air Force ROTC unit was
established in 1947 and currently consists of 180 cadets. The
success of the program is evidenced by the fact that the
number of officers commissioned by Purdue's detachment
each year has consistently led Big Ten institutions;
Whereas, On November 4, 2010, Colonel Tom
Frooninckx,
of Purdue University's Air Force ROTC
program, was presented with the Right of Line Award by
General Norton Schwartz, Air Force Chief of Staff;
Whereas, T
he award, announced during an annual
national conference
of all college Air Force ROTC units,
made Purdue University the top officer training program
among
144 universities in the country;
Whereas, The Right of Line award is the Purdue
University Air Force ROTC program's
first national honor.
T
he award is based on several factors, including production
of high-quality officers for the Air Force, which is ROTC's
top
mission, leadership training, military education,
recruiting and retention of cadets, university and public
relations, communit
y service, and physical fitness
; and
Whereas, The Purdue University Air Force ROTC
program is to be commended for attaining this prestigious
honor and national recognition: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Purdue
University's Air Force ROTC program on winning the Right of Line
Award.

transmit a copy of this Resolution to Tom Frooninckx and Purdue
