Synopsis: Timely payment of contractors and subcontractors. Requires that any subcontract entered into by a person with whom the state has a contract must include a provision for prompt payment by the subcontractor to employees of the subcontractor and to any party to whom the subcontractor must make payments under the subcontract.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning state offices and administration.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 4-13-2-14.9; (12)IN0292.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 4-13-2-14.9 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012]: Sec. 14.9. Any contract entered into by the state must include a provision that any subcontract entered into by the contractor must include a provision that the subcontractor will make timely payments to:
        (1) the employees of the subcontractor; and
        (2) any party to whom the subcontractor must make payments under the subcontract.
