        A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the Purdue Musical Organizations.
    

    Whereas, Purdue Musical Organizations (PMO), founded in 1933, is made up of six choral ensembles and one handbell choir, including the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, Purdue Bells, University Choir, Heart & Soul, All Campus & Community Chorale, PMO Specialties, and the PMO Kids Choir;

    Whereas, Members of the Purdue Musical Organizations form lifelong relationships, and the members become like family, building close, lasting friendships;

    Whereas, The PMO performs more than 100 shows each

year, including the Purdue Christmas Show that is performed before a live audience of thousands of people and broadcast to millions more through public television and radio networks;

    Whereas, The Purdue Musical Organizations maintains high academic standards, provides students with travel opportunities that might not otherwise be available, and offers more than $210,000 in scholarships annually;

    Whereas, The most important goal of the Purdue Musical Organizations is to provide a program for students "to learn, perform, and grow together"; and

    Whereas, Music brings laughter and happiness into our lives; and, through the PMO, Purdue University has given both students and people around the world hours of enjoyment: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives acknowledges the many accomplishments of the Purdue Musical Organizations and thanks the organization for its dedication to students.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to Mitchell Daniels, President of Purdue University, and William Griffel, Director of the Purdue Musical Organizations.
