A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Columbus T. Smith.
Whereas, Columbus T. Smith has devoted most of his adult
life to teaching Sunday school to children;
Whereas, Columbus T. Smith feels that Sunday school is
training from the Bible on how children should be raised;
Whereas, Teaching Sunday school is a family affair, with
his wife Ethel also teaching Sunday school at Saints Memorial
Church of God in Christ;
Whereas, Not only is Columbus T. Smith dedicated to the church ministry and Sunday school, but his beliefs carry over into his dedication as a businessman;
Whereas, Retired from the Post Office, Columbus T. Smith also concentrates on the financial aspect of Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ; and
Whereas, Columbus T. Smith is a shining example of one
who has devoted his life to the spiritual needs of the faithful, in
particular young children, whom Christ declared that the
kingdom of God belonged to: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Mr. Columbus T. Smith on the occasion of his retirement as district superintendent for Sunday school for the Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ and thanks him for his years of dedicated services to the faithful of his church and Indiana.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Columbus T. Smith and his family.
