A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Isabelle Haverstick
Harger.
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger was born on July 20,
1912, on the Haverstick family farm just east of Noblesville;
Whereas, After graduating from Noblesville High School in
1929, Isabelle Haverstick Harger attended DePauw University;
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger married William T.
Harger on November 13, 1931, and enjoyed 62 years of
happiness until his death in 1994;
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger, the longest-serving volunteer at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, was one of the
founders of the hospital's chaplaincy program in 1964 and
served as the first chairman;
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger was an original
member of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary Board and was
chairman of the Gray Ladies of the Hospital;
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger has been a member
of the First United Methodist Church since 1929 and has
served on the Administrative Board and is still active in Sunday
School and the women's circles;
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger belongs to Tri Kappa
sorority and is a member of the Daughters of the American
Revolution; and
Whereas, Isabelle Haverstick Harger has dedicated her life
to helping others and working for the betterment of her
community and her state: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives acknowledges the many contributions of Isabelle Haverstick Harger to her community and her state.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to Isabelle Haverstick Harger.
