Synopsis: University and school corporation construction. Exempts
school corporations and state educational institutions from the common
construction wage law from July 1, 2010, through December 31, 2012.
Establishes the interim study committee on the common construction
wage to study the effects of the common construction wage law.
Effective: July 1, 2010.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning state
and local administration.
(b) Except as provided in IC 5-23, this chapter does not apply to a person that has entered into an operating agreement with the state, a municipal corporation, or another political subdivision for the management or operation of a public facility under IC 5-23.
(c) This subsection expires December 31, 2012. This chapter does not apply to contractors or subcontractors performing public work for a school corporation (as defined in IC 36-1-2-17) or a state educational institution (as defined in IC 21-7-13-32).

(b) There is established the interim study committee on the
common construction wage. The committee shall study the effects
of the common construction wage law (IC 5-16-7).
(c) The committee shall operate under the policies governing
study committees adopted by the legislative council.
(d) The affirmative votes of a majority of the voting members
appointed to the committee are required for the committee to take
action on any measure, including final reports.
(e) This SECTION expires December 31, 2012.
