Bill Title: Battery on a utility worker. Provides that battery is a Level 6 felony, instead of a Class B misdemeanor, if the offense is committed against a utility worker who is acting in the ordinary course of the utility worker's employment. Provides that battery is a Level 5 felony, instead of a Class B misdemeanor, if the offense results in bodily injury to a utility worker who is acting in the ordinary course of the utility worker's employment. Provides that battery committed: (1) by placing bodily fluid or waste on another person; and (2) with knowledge, or reckless failure to know, that the bodily fluid or waste is infected with hepatitis, tuberculosis, or human immunodeficiency virus; is a Level 5 felony, instead of a Level 6 felony, if the offense is committed against a utility worker.
