Summary

Food hub pilot project. Establishes the food hub pilot program (pilot program) for the purpose of developing, financing, and constructing a food hub in the city of Gary. Provides that the northwest Indiana regional development authority: (1) shall administer the pilot program; (2) may contract with one or more qualified nonprofit organizations or community development financial institutions to administer the pilot program through a public-private partnership; (3) shall develop, finance, and construct the food hub in cooperation with public and private sector partners; and (4) may issue bonds to fund the pilot program.
