Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that a municipality that nominates and elects candidates in nonpartisan primary and general elections shall notify the State Board of Elections within 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act that it nominates and elects candidates in that manner. Provides that, if a municipality adopts or rescinds nonpartisan primary and general elections on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act, it shall promptly notify the Board that it has done so. Provides that the State Board of Elections shall publish a list of municipalities that nominate and elect candidates in nonpartisan primary and general elections. Provides that reliance on the list published shall be a sufficient defense to an objection made on the basis that the candidate's petitions failed to correctly indicate the nonpartisan or partisan nature of the office for which the candidate is running.
