| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Carl J. "Duke" Trent of Rock Island, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on October 18, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Carl Trent was born on June 24, 1917 in Brewster, | ||||||
| 6 | Nebraska; his parents were Edward and Anna Morgan Trent; he | ||||||
| 7 | married Donna E. Boyer on September 6, 1947 in Farmington, | ||||||
| 8 | Iowa; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Carl Trent served with the United States Army in | ||||||
| 10 | Africa and Italy during World War II; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Carl Trent worked as a coal miner and at John | ||||||
| 12 | Deere Plow Planter; he was also a truck driver for Phillips | ||||||
| 13 | Petroleum for many years; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Carl Trent was a member of Oak Ridge Bible Chapel | ||||||
| 15 | in Milan; he enjoyed gardening; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Carl Trent is survived by his wife, Donna; his | ||||||
| 17 | sons, Jack (Kathy) Trent, Steve (Crystal) Trent, and Mike | ||||||
| 18 | (Brenda) Trent; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, Tina, | ||||||
| 19 | Chad, Adam, Jason, and Jennifer; and 17 great-grandchildren; | ||||||
| 20 | therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 3 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl J. "Duke" Trent; | ||||||
| 4 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to the family of Carl Trent as an expression of our | ||||||
| 7 | sympathy.
