| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Carl L. Gargano of Moline, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on July 1, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was born on November 29, 1931 in | ||||||
| 6 | Silvis; his parents were James and Maria Rando Gargano; he | ||||||
| 7 | married Irene Olson on March 23, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano served in the United States Navy | ||||||
| 9 | during the Korean War; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano worked for the Chicago, Rock Island | ||||||
| 11 | and Pacific Railroad as a machinist for 10 years; he retired | ||||||
| 12 | from the John Deere Foundry in 1991 after 34 years of service; | ||||||
| 13 | and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was a member of Veterans of Foreign | ||||||
| 15 | Wars Post 8890 and the East End Club in Moline; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano loved visiting with people, cooking | ||||||
| 17 | Italian dinners, fishing, hunting, and gardening; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 19 | and his sister; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Carl Gargano is survived by his wife, Irene; his | ||||||
| 2 | children, David Gargano, Cynthia Lewis, and Lori (Tony) Serra; | ||||||
| 3 | his granddaughters, Ociana Lewis, Victoria (Daniel) Schoess, | ||||||
| 4 | Olivia Serra, and Andria Serra; and his brother; therefore, be | ||||||
| 5 | it

| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 8 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl L. Gargano; and | ||||||
| 9 | be it further
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to the family of Carl Gargano as an expression of our | ||||||
| 12 | sympathy.
