2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Bernard R. Gardner of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on July 6, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner was born in Moline to Howard and | ||||||
6 | Thelma Jenkins Gardner on November 22, 1940; he married Doris | ||||||
7 | A. Tank in East Moline on September 8, 1967; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner served his country in the United | ||||||
9 | States Air Force; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner enjoyed woodworking and was an | ||||||
11 | avid Chicago Cubs fan; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner is survived by his wife, Doris; | ||||||
13 | his daughter, Susan (Darrin) Johnson; his son, John "Jake" | ||||||
14 | Gardner; and his grandchildren, Claire Johnson and Derek | ||||||
15 | Johnson; therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Bernard R. Gardner, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
