2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Rev. Joseph G. Arrington Jr. of Rock | ||||||
4 | Island, who passed away on June 18, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was born in Lake Providence, | ||||||
6 | Louisiana to Joseph Sr. and Fannie (Casson) Arrington on March | ||||||
7 | 12, 1927; he served in the United States Army Air Force and the | ||||||
8 | United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War; | ||||||
9 | he married Wilma F. Kimmins on April 16, 1966; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was the pastor of Derrick's Temple | ||||||
11 | Church of God in Christ for 16 years; he also was a truck | ||||||
12 | driver for Watt's Disposal in Rock Island for over 30 years; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was a member of New Birth of | ||||||
15 | Victory Temple Church of God in Christ; he enjoyed sports, | ||||||
16 | fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, especially his | ||||||
17 | grandchildren; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was preceded in death by his | ||||||
19 | parents and his son, James Arrington; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington is survived by his wife, Wilma; his |

1 | children, Joyce (Garry) Bogguess, Krine (Willie) Arrington | ||||||
2 | Lagrone, Vernice (Andre) Johnson, Simone (Moses) Woods, Andre | ||||||
3 | Kimmins, David Wires, Eric (Tina) Wires, Joseph (Sarah) | ||||||
4 | Arrington III, Loren (Briana) Arrington, and Matthew | ||||||
5 | Arrington; and a host of grandchildren and | ||||||
6 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Rev. Joseph G. Arrington Jr., and extend our sincere | ||||||
10 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
11 | him; and be it further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Rev. Arrington as an expression of | ||||||
14 | our deepest sympathy.
