2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Marcia L. Markwalder of Bartonville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on June 18, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was born on July 4, 1932 in Good | ||||||
6 | Hope; her parents were Stephen and Ada "Grace" McMahill; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder worked at the Bartonville Bank | ||||||
8 | in Bartonville for many years; she served as the Mayor of the | ||||||
9 | Village of Bartonville from 1997 to 2005; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was very active in community | ||||||
11 | events and organizations; she served as president of the Oak | ||||||
12 | Grove Grade School District PTA; she was a member of the Oak | ||||||
13 | Grove Grade School District School Board and the Red Hat | ||||||
14 | Society; she served as president of the Femme Unirs Women's | ||||||
15 | Club from 1992 to 1995 and 2006 to 2008; she was a member of the | ||||||
16 | GSWC Illinois State Board from 2008 until her passing and of | ||||||
17 | the GSWC Illinois Lou Brown's Rainbows from 2010 to 2015; she | ||||||
18 | was President of the Splash Committee; she was also a member of | ||||||
19 | the Farm Bureau, the Women's American Legion and the | ||||||
20 | Bartonville Air Show Committee and a volunteer for the Wildlife | ||||||
21 | Prairie Park and the Bi-Centennial Committee of Bartonville; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was preceded in death by her | ||||||
2 | brothers, Donald and Claire McMahill, and her sisters, Freda | ||||||
3 | Brownfield and Marjorie Connett; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder is survived by her husband, | ||||||
5 | David R. Markwalder; her sons, Douglas R. (Toni) Markwalder and | ||||||
6 | Jeffery T. (Moshe Eliel) Markwalder; her grandsons, Nathen and | ||||||
7 | Stephen Markwalder; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be | ||||||
8 | it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
11 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Marcia L. Markwalder; | ||||||
12 | and be it further
