SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jessie M. Champion of Granite City, who
4passed away on June 20, 2016; and
5 WHEREAS, Jessie Champion worked as a housekeeper at the
6Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri; and
7 WHEREAS, Jessie Champion was a member of the Eastern Star
8and Pontoon Baptist Church; and
9 WHEREAS, Jessie Champion was preceded in death by her
10husband, Fred Champion; her son-in-law, Terry Greathouse; her
11parents, Herman Huffhines and Viola (Lenze) Kimmel; five
12brothers; and three sisters; and
13 WHEREAS, Jessie Champion is survived by her daughters,
14Sandra Gibson, Sharon Greathouse, Sue (Jack) Palmer, and
15Rebecca Ohlund; her grandchildren, Ronnie, David, Dennis,
16Shanna, Daniel Gibson, Terry Cory, Zachery, and Joshua Whitt;
17and her great-grandchildren, Jayden Whitt, Dreamer Whitt, and
18Cameron and Braden Gibson; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Jessie M. Champion, and extend our sincere condolences to her
2family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
3further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
