SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Glenn Stangland of Wheeling, who passed
away on August 21, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Stangland was born in Chicago to Kenneth and
Jean (McGrath) Stangland on November 17, 1947; he graduated
from the pharmacy school at the University of Illinois at
Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Stangland owned and operated independent
neighborhood pharmacies for 30 years; he finished his career at
Osco Drug in Mundelein; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Stangland was a man of science and a beloved
paterfamilias; he enjoyed traveling to Walt Disney World with
his family, cheering on his beloved White Sox, watching movies,
and playing the video game Halo; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Stangland was preceded in death by his
parents; and
WHEREAS, Glenn Stangland is survived by his wife of 42
years, Bonnie; his children, Holly, Lisa, and Sean (Lisa
Draski) Stangland; his brother, James (Julie) Stangland; and

his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Glenn Stangland and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Glenn Stangland as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
