2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Steve Chidester of Cortland, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on May 19, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Steve Chidester was born on March 29, 1972 in | ||||||
6 | Geneva; his parents were Larry and Sandi Chidester; he married | ||||||
7 | Lorraine Bradley on May 4, 1996; they began their new life | ||||||
8 | together in Elburn but made their home in Sugar Grove in 2000; | ||||||
9 | on September 15, 2003, they moved to their current home in | ||||||
10 | Cortland; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Steve Chidester grew up in Elburn and attended | ||||||
12 | local schools; he graduated from Kaneland High School with the | ||||||
13 | Class of 1990; before accepting his diploma, he went to the | ||||||
14 | State meet on the cross country team, excelled in track, where | ||||||
15 | he specialized in the pole vault, and made a name for himself | ||||||
16 | on the wrestling team; and

17 | WHEREAS, After graduation, Steve Chidester worked for | ||||||
18 | Speedway Disposal, Tandem Landscaping, and National | ||||||
19 | Construction Rentals; most recently, he was proud to serve as a | ||||||
20 | Highway Maintainer III for the Kane County Department of | ||||||
21 | Transportation; and

1 | WHEREAS, Steve Chidester was a member of the Aurora Land | ||||||
2 | Archers Club; he and his dad were avid bow hunters that entered | ||||||
3 | many competitions over the years and took hunting trips in | ||||||
4 | Illinois and Colorado, where they hunted elk and white tail | ||||||
5 | deer; he also enjoyed fishing with his family and friends, and | ||||||
6 | sitting around a campfire that he made and lit himself, the | ||||||
7 | Denver Broncos, and hiking and climbing; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Steve Chidester is preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | daughter, Alyssa Lee Chidester; his paternal grandparents, | ||||||
10 | Lawerance and Beverly Chidester; his maternal grandparents, | ||||||
11 | Stephen and Ruth Dawson; and his faithful dog, Montana Marie; | ||||||
12 | and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Steve Chidester is survived by his loving wife, | ||||||
14 | Lorraine; his parents; his siblings, Tammy Lynn (Bill) Miller | ||||||
15 | and Shellie Kay (Daniel) Sparks; his mother-in-law, Lucy | ||||||
16 | Bradley; his sister-in-law, Annie Ruelas; his nephews, Travis | ||||||
17 | Miller, Dominic Ruelas, and Adryan Ruelas; his nieces, Olivia | ||||||
18 | Miller and Alanna Ruelas; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his | ||||||
19 | best four-legged friend, Gracie; and many other family members | ||||||
20 | and friends; therefore, be it

21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
22 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
23 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Steve Chidester; and |
