2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Richard Mikyska of Marengo, formerly of | ||||||
4 | Naperville, who passed away on May 19, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Richard Mikyska was a veteran of the United States | ||||||
6 | Army; he graduated from the University of Illinois College of | ||||||
7 | Pharmacy, where he was a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical | ||||||
8 | Fraternity; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Richard Mikyska was a retired pharmacist and owner | ||||||
10 | of Brandt Pharmacy in Marengo; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Richard Mikyska was a member of the Riverside | ||||||
12 | Masonic Lodge, Medinah Shriners and the Scottish Rite, Valley | ||||||
13 | of Chicago for 51 years; he was the past president of the | ||||||
14 | Marengo Chamber of Commerce and the co-founder of the Marengo | ||||||
15 | Settlers Days; he was a member of the Marengo Lions Club; he | ||||||
16 | enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, reading, and painting; | ||||||
17 | and

18 | WHEREAS, Richard Mikyska was preceded in death by his | ||||||
19 | brother, Glen; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Richard Mikyska is survived by his wife, Maureen; |

| |||||||
1 | his children, Robert (Sarah) Mikyska and Brenda (Jay) Courtney; | ||||||
2 | and his grandchildren, Jonathan and Jack Courtney; therefore, | ||||||
3 | be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Richard Mikyska and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Richard Mikyska as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy.
