2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Jane Brodie Eisenhour of Iowa City, Iowa, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Geneva, who passed away on March 24, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was born on August 31, 1931 in | ||||||
6 | Highland Park; her parents were James and Bessie Philip; she | ||||||
7 | married Frederic William Brodie, MD on November 27, 1954 at the | ||||||
8 | Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest; he passed away in | ||||||
9 | 1966; she married Bert Earl Eisenhour, Jr. on June 17, 1978; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour graduated from Lake Forest High | ||||||
12 | School and attended Albion College, St. Luke's Hospital School | ||||||
13 | of Nursing, and the University of Illinois, where she earned | ||||||
14 | her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour worked at the Copley Hospital | ||||||
16 | School of Nursing in Aurora as an instructor of | ||||||
17 | medical-surgical nursing; she was also a co-owner of The Photo | ||||||
18 | Shop in downtown St. Charles and served as a realtor for Baird | ||||||
19 | and Warner; and

20 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was a member of St. Mark's | ||||||
21 | Episcopal Church in Geneva for over 50 years; she was a member |

1 | of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, the Young Mothers Club, the | ||||||
2 | Geneva Garden Club, and the board of directors for Delnor | ||||||
3 | Community Hospital and the Geneva Golf Club; she was also named | ||||||
4 | a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary | ||||||
5 | International; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour was preceded in death by her | ||||||
7 | parents and her first husband, Frederic; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Jane Eisenhour is survived by her husband of 37 | ||||||
9 | years, Bert; her children, Frederic (Susan) Brodie, Jr., Janet | ||||||
10 | (Terrance) Riley, Susan (Robert) Burns, and Patricia (Scott) | ||||||
11 | Sarver; her stepson, Bert (Judy) Eisenhour III; her | ||||||
12 | grandchildren, Blair and Connor Brodie, Andrew and Philip | ||||||
13 | Riley, Catherine, Elizabeth, and David Burns, and Matthew, | ||||||
14 | Louise, and Thomas Sarver; and her brother, James (Gail) | ||||||
15 | Philip, Jr.; therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
18 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Jane Brodie Eisenhour; | ||||||
19 | and be it further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Jane Eisenhour as an expression of | ||||||
22 | our sympathy.
