2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dorothy A. Messer of McHenry, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 10, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was born to Alfred and Jennie Allen | ||||||
6 | on March 4, 1932; she married Glen Messer in Pascagoula, | ||||||
7 | Mississippi on March 7, 1953; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer served as a Deacon at Faith | ||||||
9 | Presbyterian Church in McHenry; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was an active member of the | ||||||
11 | American Legion Auxiliary Post 491, where she served as | ||||||
12 | president; she also volunteered for the American Red Cross; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was preceded in death by her | ||||||
14 | parents; her siblings, Charles and Olga; and her | ||||||
15 | daughter-in-law, Marilyn; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer is survived by her husband of 65 | ||||||
17 | years, Glen; her children, Douglas Messer, David Messer, and | ||||||
18 | Nancy Piper; her grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Adam, Janean, | ||||||
19 | Carol-Ann, Kathleen, Lauren, and Alissa; her 12 | ||||||
20 | great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Arlene and Robert; |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Dorothy A. Messer and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Dorothy Messer as an expression of | ||||||
9 | our deepest sympathy.
