2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William R. "Bill" Miller of Oak Park, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 19, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller was born on June 6, 1945 in Oak Park; | ||||||
6 | his parents were James E. and Lucile R. (nee Irmis) Miller; he | ||||||
7 | was a third generation and lifelong Oak Park resident; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller graduated from Oak Park and River | ||||||
9 | Forest High School in 1963; he subsequently attended Eastern | ||||||
10 | Illinois University; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller served his country as a member of the | ||||||
12 | United States Army Special Forces in Vietnam, having attained | ||||||
13 | the rank of sergeant; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller worked for many years in the tool and | ||||||
15 | die industry; he was a part owner of Superior Tool and Die | ||||||
16 | Company of Chicago and Maimeri Import Company; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller enjoyed traveling and was passionate | ||||||
18 | about the outdoors, particularly canoeing, sailing, camping, | ||||||
19 | and hiking; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bill Miller was the father of Leah Miller; the | ||||||
2 | brother of Richard (Iole Capiello) Miller, Marlyn Miller, and | ||||||
3 | Geri (Don) McLauchlan; the uncle of Chad, Brett, and Shawn | ||||||
4 | (Shena) Lockwood and Alissa (James) Pfundstein; and the | ||||||
5 | great-uncle and friend of many; therefore, be it
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
8 | family and friends, mourn the passing of William R. "Bill" | ||||||
9 | Miller; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Bill Miller as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | sympathy.
