2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Harold Lange of Carlinville, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on February 1, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Harold Lange was born in Carlinville to Walter F. | ||||||
6 | and Lumanda M. (Kasten) Lange on July 4, 1923; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from Carlinville High School in 1940; he married Geraldine | ||||||
8 | Schwab in Carlinville on January 16, 1943; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Harold Lange farmed north of Carlinville for over | ||||||
10 | 47 years; he also served as a part-time rural mail carrier; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Harold Lange was a member of Saints Mary & Joseph | ||||||
12 | Catholic Church, the Macoupin County Historical Society, the | ||||||
13 | Blue Cross-Blue Shield Board, and the Carlinville School Board, | ||||||
14 | where he served two years as president; he also served as Road | ||||||
15 | Commissioner for South Otter Township; he enjoyed woodworking | ||||||
16 | and traveling; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Harold Lange was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
18 | his sisters, Mildred Brown, Esther Kurtz, and Ruth Pierson; and | ||||||
19 | one of his grandsons; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Harold Lange is survived by his wife, Geraldine; |

1 | his daughters, Carol Sue (Jim) Matejka and Diane (Bob) Mason; | ||||||
2 | his sons, Bill (Nancy) Lange, Rich (Patty) Lange, and Jim | ||||||
3 | (Margie) Lange; his eight grandchildren; and his 26 | ||||||
4 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Harold Lange and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
8 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Harold Lange as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
