SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dennis F. Manns of Alton, who passed away
4on February 9, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Dennis Manns was born in Alton to Edwin and Helen
6(Davis) Manns on August 12, 1951; he married Janis M. Bierbaum
7at St. Mathew's Catholic Church in Alton on October 12, 1974;
8and
9 WHEREAS, Dennis Manns retired from the International
10Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 649, where he worked as
11an electrician; and
12 WHEREAS, Dennis Manns was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
13Church in Alton; he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals,
14the St. Louis Blues, and Notre Dame; he enjoyed golfing, trout
15fishing, camping, playing cards, and volunteering at the Alton
16Expo; he also loved attending the Harman Auctions in Shipman
17and spending time with his grandchildren and family; and
18 WHEREAS, Dennis Manns was preceded in death by his father,
19Edwin Manns; his stepfather, Jim Rodden; his sister, Sandra
20Reese; and his niece, Barbara Griffin; and

1 WHEREAS, Dennis Manns is survived by his wife, Janis Manns;
2his mother, Helen (Davis) Manns Rodden; his sons and
3daughters-in-law, Douglas Manns, Scott and Laura Manns, and
4Chrisi McNamee; his grandchildren, Cayla, Emma, Joslyn,
5Colette, Alena Jonathan, and Luke Manns; his sister and
6brother-in-law, Marilyn and Scotty (Robert) Scott; and his
7nephew and niece, Jeff and Teresa Griffin; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Dennis F. Manns, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Dennis Manns as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
