2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John Dokas of East Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 26, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Dokas was born in East Moline on June 30, | ||||||
6 | 1924 to James P. and Lola White; he served in the United States | ||||||
7 | Navy during World War II and married Dorothy Summitt on May 22, | ||||||
8 | 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, John Dokas retired from John Deere Harvester in | ||||||
10 | East Moline in 1984 after 25 years of service; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, John Dokas enjoyed playing racquetball, playing | ||||||
12 | it well into his mid-80s; he was also a Bible teacher; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, John Dokas was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
14 | his wife, Dorothy; and his brother, Pete Dokas; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, John Dokas is survived by his daughter, Marsha | ||||||
16 | (Charles) Durden; his son, James (LuAnn) Dokas; his | ||||||
17 | grandchildren, Clara Lynn (Tim) Hemphill, Rebecca (Jeremy) | ||||||
18 | Barr, Christa Dokas, and Elizabeth (Jesse) Cochrane; his | ||||||
19 | great-grandchildren, Jordan Peters, Carly Barr, and Addison | ||||||
20 | Hemphill; and a great-grandson due in March; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | John Dokas, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
4 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of John Dokas as an expression of our | ||||||
7 | deepest sympathy.
