| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Marie McCafferty of North Chicago, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 27, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was born in Carrollton, Alabama | ||||||
6 | on August 2, 1931 to Leola and Morris Woods, Sr.; she attended | ||||||
7 | Spring Hill Elementary School in Alabama and graduated from | ||||||
8 | Pickens County High School; she married Hugh McCafferty on May | ||||||
9 | 26, 1952; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty moved to North Chicago and worked | ||||||
11 | for Abbott Laboratories for 25 years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was a member of First Corinthian | ||||||
13 | Missionary Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was preceded in death by her | ||||||
15 | husband; her parents; 2 brothers, Clyde and Levert Woods; and 2 | ||||||
16 | sisters, Wilda Wright and Johnnie B. Horton; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty is survived by her brother, | ||||||
18 | Morris Jr. (Tracy) Woods; her goddaughter, Angela Norwood; and | ||||||
19 | a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; therefore, | ||||||
20 | be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Marie McCafferty, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
5 | further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Marie McCafferty as an expression of | ||||||
8 | our deepest sympathy.
