| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Edward Nelson Juneau of Glen Carbon, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Granite City, who passed away on November 26, 2010; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, He was born July 22, 1920, in Alton, and was the | ||||||
7 | son of the late Edward Joseph and Anna Mae (McFetridge) Juneau; | ||||||
8 | he married Marilyn Ruth (VanMeter) Juneau May 15, 1948, in | ||||||
9 | Bethalto; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, He retired in 1984 from Juneau Associates Inc. | ||||||
11 | P.C., which he founded, after many years of dedicated service | ||||||
12 | to the area as a civil engineer and land surveyor; he was a | ||||||
13 | United States Navy veteran who proudly served his country | ||||||
14 | during World War II as a PT boat captain; and

15 | WHEREAS, He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award given | ||||||
16 | by the Granite City Rotary Club, a faithful member of Holy | ||||||
17 | Family Catholic Church in Granite City, and 3rd Degree member | ||||||
18 | of the Knights of Columbus Tri-City Council; he enjoyed his | ||||||
19 | days of golfing, traveling, and spending time at his lake house | ||||||
20 | and will be remembered for the love and special times spent | ||||||
21 | with his family and friends; and

1 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his | ||||||
2 | parents; and his three sisters, Eleanor Rhodes, Virginia Moore, | ||||||
3 | and Mary Helen Cox; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Edward Juneau is survived by his sons and | ||||||
5 | daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Kate Juneau and Joseph M. and | ||||||
6 | Beth Juneau; his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Joseph | ||||||
7 | Ribbing, Suzanne and Dave McClain, and Jeanette Ann and William | ||||||
8 | Cassiday; his 10 grandchildren; his 8 great-grandchildren; his | ||||||
9 | 3 step-grandchildren; his sister, Pat Dempsey Juneau; and his | ||||||
10 | extended family and friends; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
13 | his family and friends, the passing of Edward Juneau; and be it | ||||||
14 | further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to the family of Edward Juneau as a symbol of our | ||||||
17 | sincere sympathy.
