SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Wayne McPhillips, who passed away on
4November 22, 2019; and
5 WHEREAS, John McPhillips was born on October 23, 1946; he
6grew up in Chicago; he married Patricia Kelley; and
7 WHEREAS, John McPhillips worked for Nu-Art Printing Co. in
8Bedford Park for many years; he moved to the Manhattan area in
91987 and began working for the Will County Highway Department;
10he retired in 2009; and
11 WHEREAS, John McPhillips was known as a man in constant
12motion; he enjoyed working outdoors, maintaining his farm
13equipment, taking care of his multiple fish tanks, collecting
14just about everything, and spending time with his grandsons;
15and
16 WHEREAS, John McPhillips was preceded in death by his
17mother, Mary McPhillips; and
18 WHEREAS, John McPhillips is survived by his loving wife of
1953 years, Patricia; his daughters, Laurie (Russ)
20McPhillips-Weglarz and Kelly (Mike) Bollinger; his grandsons,

1John Weglarz, Ryan Bollinger, and Sean Bollinger; his sister,
2Joanne (Jim) Sweeney; and his brother, Bill Schuler; therefore,
3be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6John Wayne McPhillips and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of John McPhillips as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
