SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of John Wayne McPhillips, who passed away on
November 22, 2019; and
WHEREAS, John McPhillips was born on October 23, 1946; he
grew up in Chicago; he married Patricia Kelley; and
WHEREAS, John McPhillips worked for Nu-Art Printing Co. in
Bedford Park for many years; he moved to the Manhattan area in
1987 and began working for the Will County Highway Department;
he retired in 2009; and
WHEREAS, John McPhillips was known as a man in constant
motion; he enjoyed working outdoors, maintaining his farm
equipment, taking care of his multiple fish tanks, collecting
just about everything, and spending time with his grandsons;
and
WHEREAS, John McPhillips was preceded in death by his
mother, Mary McPhillips; and
WHEREAS, John McPhillips is survived by his loving wife of
53 years, Patricia; his daughters, Laurie (Russ)
McPhillips-Weglarz and Kelly (Mike) Bollinger; his grandsons,

John Weglarz, Ryan Bollinger, and Sean Bollinger; his sister,
Joanne (Jim) Sweeney; and his brother, Bill Schuler; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
John Wayne McPhillips and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of John McPhillips as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
